Market research & insights officer

The Department of Human Resources would like to inform the public and its estimated staff of opportunity for the position of “ Market Research & Insights Officer”.

JOB SUMMARY

The jobholder is responsible for planning, executing, and analyzing consumer and customer research to support brand decision-making and performance evaluation.

KEY COMPENTENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 3–5 years of experience in market research, data analysis, statistics, or research agency environment. FMCG experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Strong quantitative background.
  • Proven ability to design surveys, structure data collection, and ensure data reliability and validity.
  • Strong analytical skills, comfortable working with large datasets and translating findings into business recommendations.
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel advanced functions, SPSS, R, Python, Power BI, or similar tools is an advantage.
  • Ability to interpret consumer behavior and link data insights to brand and business performance.
  • Strong reporting and presentation skills, able to simplify complex data for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Good communication skills and public speaking.
  • Organizational and time management abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or related field.
  • Proficiency in English and / or French
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Good team spirit.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

  • Design and execute internal research projects including pre- and post-campaign studies, concept tests, and consumer feedback surveys, using qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
  • Translate data into clear insights, conclusions, and recommendations for Brand Managers and the Marketing Manager.
  • Plan and implement regular consumer satisfaction surveys in line with ISO certification requirements.
  • Act as the key internal focal point for outsourced research projects, including Brand Health Trackers and large-scale studies conducted with research agencies.
  • Contribute to building a consumer insights culture within the marketing team by sharing learnings and best practices.
